Haggar Clothing Co. drastically improves the way men's clothes are made; offers unprecedented guarantee
New York, NY (September 26, 2006) - Haggar Clothing Co. today announced its revolutionary Quality for Life™ initiative, in which every piece of Haggar-branded apparel will feature unbreakable buttons, unbustable seams, unbreakable zippers and bigger, unrippable pockets. Haggar also announced that it will be guaranteeing all Haggar® Quality for Life clothing for the entire life of the owner. Quality for Life now positions Haggar as the fashion apparel industry's quality leader. The first offerings of the Haggar Quality for Life product lines are in stores now. In the coming months, 100% of Haggar-branded apparel will contain the new, superior features and the lifetime guarantee.
"With Quality for Life, we set out to create the highest-quality clothing in the entire apparel industry. We achieved this goal by completely re-engineering how clothing is made -- we put unbreakable buttons, unbustable seams, unbreakable zippers and bigger, unrippable pockets into every Haggar Quality for Life garment," said Jim Lewis, President and Chief Executive Officer of Haggar. "But we didn't stop there. After adding these extraordinary quality features to all of our products, we took an even bolder step - we announced that every Quality for Life garment from Haggar is guaranteed against defects in make and workmanship for the entire life of the owner. That's the life of the owner, not of the garment!"
Added Lewis, "We intend to be the complete clothing resource for the American man, so we went out and talked to men about how their current clothing lets them down. Then we addressed every one of those needs by creating clothing of quality, durability and value superior to anything else in the category. It's our goal to give men complete peace of mind about their clothes."
"Men told us they get frustrated with the small pockets found in most pants, so we made bigger, unrippable pockets in a new rounded shape that allows for more storage. We added piping around the pocket to reinforce seam strength; Haggar pockets now withstand 98 pounds of weight!" said Stephen Croncota, Chief Marketing Officer of Haggar. "We made our seams unbustable by increasing our stitches-per-inch and by using a thread which is significantly stronger than that currently used by most apparel manufacturers. We also upgraded our buttons, enabling them to withstand 125 pounds per square inch, versus the industry standard of just 73 pounds per square inch. We put a Q inside every Haggar Quality for Life garment; that's the symbol to look for so you'll know that it's the best-made clothing you can buy."
For 80 years, Haggar has been an iconic American brand, with a formidable history of fashion innovations. Haggar was the first to introduce wash and wear slacks, finished-bottom slacks, permanent-press slacks and wrinkle-free slacks.
With this aggressive overhaul and upgrade of the way clothing is made, Haggar is once again the innovation leader, setting a new standard of quality in the fashion industry.
